Will Lexi and Nicole be reading Onyx Storm in print first or audio first?? Or simultaneous? And will you both be sleeping before starting or starting right when you get home??? I am so scared of getting my book at midnight because i need to sleep and if I read even one chapter before bed i will NOT stop 🥲
HOPEFULLY, we found out some of these answers in Onyx Storm, but what exactly do you think his research entails? I know the books mention researching feather tails. Still, I think it's so much more than that, and that might be why we haven't found it yet because it is so integral to the plot and has more answers than we initially thought... but I think we might find out what happened to Lilith when she was pregnant with Violet and got her "sickness cough cough Vennin stab wound" when we find his research. I think he was researching feathertails because he was working on finding a cure for Vennin because Lillith "got stabbed/sickness." Also, what if he is related to the third brother in the fables, and we get more insight into his ancestry through his research? I think his research will tie Violet and Andarna to being the dual weapon to win the war or at least get Violet on that track!
Do you think we will find Andarnas' breed and she will try to convince them to come back to Navarre and Poromeil to breathe on ward stones (no clue where they are coming from lol) and make wards large enough to shelter all citizens from the Venin (or at least dull their powers)?
Do we think Lilith was venin? Especially when she was "sick" while pregnant with Violet? or is this going to be some prophecy type situation where violet is somehow already part venin and she drained Lilith while she was in the womb? Like Violet is the "promised one". Do you think we will leanr this from her journals?
During my reread, I've been asking myself WHY is the text at the top of each particular chapter. So far, Fourth Wing, Chapter 14 gives me the most pause and the most concern given: 1. What happens plot wise (Xaden confronts Jack, Tairn steps in and bonds with Violet, etc.) 2. Multiple italicized words/phrases throughout this chapter... starting with italics: "Xaden," then quote "hope is a fickle, dangerous thing..." and next three "probabilities." 3. "three documented cases" Here is the text: "In the six centuries of recorded history of dragon and rider, there have been hundreds of known cases where a dragon simply cannot emotionally recover from the loss of their bonded rider. This happens when the bond is particularly strong and, in three documented cases, has even caused the untimely death of the dragon." -- Navarre, an Unedited History by Colonel Lewis Markham I feel like this is setting up that the connection between FMC/MMC and their dragons are strong... but the detail of the "three documented cases" makes me pause and think this is setting up for this scenario or explaining a prior documented case. Thoughts?
Specifically, the epigraph for chapter 19 of Fourth Wing, talks about the end of the Great War, where it says that their "allies sailed home..." and ..."the provinces of Navarre united for the first time behind the safety of our wards..." (i.e. they needed the 7th den to create the wards). So maybe the 7th den was part of the allies and they sailed away after gifting them with one dragon who would breathe on the wardstone??? Also this is the chapter where they talk about how Andarna's parents died before she was born and her history a bit more. Do you think/ hope this is the book where we get to go see the Isle Kingdoms??
Hi Fantasy Fangirls and Fanclub! You've shared the theories that Lilith was sick while pregnant with Violet from some sort of venin injury, sickness, or other altercation, which drained her hair, etc. There's also the theory that Lilith possibly turned venin herself and affected Violet. I've always heard it from some negative angle. I'm curious, if Lilith's illness was actually venin-related, could it possibly have given her some kind of antibodies or immunity? Sort of like when expecting mothers get vaccines to help their children's immunity. Not that Lilith was trying to do that, but what if everyone views it as a negative and it ends up being a gift/important aspect to our story? Anyway, that's my unhinged theory. Thank you!!

After re-reading a bit of IF, Xaden’s mental shield is often referred to as “onyx.” With this in mind, and the title of book 3 being Onyx Storm, plus it being the 3rd book of 5 in the series, what do you think would be Violet’s breaking point with Xaden at this point? Do you think book 3 will end with Xaden and Violet being at odds And/Or their mental bond broken?
